1.2.0 Hot Fix Tips - A bug in AM Server 1.2.0 prevents service startup for
new installs. The solutions are provided below:
- Download the patch am_server1.2.0_patch.zip(282KB) and unpack the new exe in
install folder replacing old AM Server 1.2.0 executable.
- Download new setup files (1.2.0 or 1.2.1) from geocities , softpedia.com
,freewarefiles.com or Download.com update status is unknown.
- Visit 4Shared.com for the files not available anywhere else. Find

Patch for AM Messenger
If you are facing problem with any of AM Messenger, AM Server or AM
NT Service please install this patch. There is no need to reinstall AM Messenger,
AM Server or AM NT Service after installing this patch.
This setup will install missing files for AM Messenger, AM Server or
AM NT Service. You need to install this setup only if AM Messenger, AM Server or
AM NT Service does not starts on your system or some of its features are not available.
On some fresh system some of the required files may not be available, this setup
will copy those files to your system. Please close AM Messenger if already running
and restart after this install. This setup contains some required component files.

Install Missing Files (Microsoft)
On clean system AM Messenger installation may fail. If it does not work
even after installing the patch then you may need to install some packages from Microsoft.

New to VB?: Tips Of the Day

[1.] Design VB forms in a modular way so that they can be referenced as objects/Class
[Simulating C++]
[2.] Keep as much code as posible in public module as far as they are reusable.
Like to load a file in a listbox or combobox you can use same function to load both,
by passing an object reference to that function.
[3.] Use Error handler for all those 'Sub' and 'Function' which can generate error
even if chances are very rare.
[4.] Load only those forms which are indeed required, program will run faster. Try
to use
Set Obj = Nothing
after unloading a form.
[5.] If you are going to design a form template and you wish to use them as independent
processing elements then it is good to put all those controls and codes in an ActiveX
Control. By doing so you will be developing a multithreaded program in Visual Basic.
